Safety at The J

The Valley of the Sun J in Scottsdale is a vibrant hub of activity where individuals of all ages engage in various programs and services. Ensuring the safety of everyone who works out, plays, grows, and engages on the Ina Levine Jewish Community Campus is of paramount importance.

Our Commitment

The center’s commitment to safety is evidenced by its dedication to employing the best security team available, as well as maintaining the most up-to-date training, policies, and procedures.

Our Focus

  1. Protecting Members and Visitors: Safety measures are essential to protect the physical well-being of all individuals on the Ina Levine Campus. This includes children in school and day camps, seniors in community programs, and families participating in recreational activities.
  2. Fostering a Sense of Security: When members feel safe, they are more likely to engage fully in the center’s offerings. A secure environment fosters a sense of community and belonging, encouraging regular participation and involvement.
  3. Preventing Incidents: Proactive safety measures help prevent incidents before they occur. This includes everything from minor accidents to potential threats, ensuring that the center remains a safe environment for all.

To enhance our comprehensive safety strategy, The J and Ina Levine Campus collaborate closely with local law enforcement and federal agencies.

We value these partnerships and believe they are instrumental in creating a multi-layered approach to security.

To further enhance the security of The J and the Ina Levine Campus, an armed security team is present on-site.

This team, composed of highly trained professionals, plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe environment for all members and visitors. While specific details about the team are kept confidential for security reasons, their presence is a key component of the Ina Levine Campus’ comprehensive safety strategy.

The Scottsdale Police Department plays a key role in maintaining security at the center. Regular patrols, on-site security assessments, and emergency response planning are some of the ways local law enforcement contributes to a safe environment. The presence of officers, whether through scheduled visits or stationed at the campus, acts as a deterrent to potential threats. Additionally, a Scottsdale Police Department Beat Office is located within the Ina Levine Campus where Scottsdale Police Officers complete reports and are stationed throughout the day. This constant presence enhances security and acts as a strong deterrent to potential threats.

Agencies such as the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security provide additional layers of security through intelligence sharing and threat assessment.

Building a strong relationship with the community is also a key component of our safety strategy. Our Security Team conducts community training sessions on personal safety, including lockdown procedures and active shooter response. These trainings educate staff and community members on how to stay safe in various situations and how to effectively respond to potential threats.

In addition to these partnerships, The J and Ina Levine Campus employ a variety of safety measures to protect the community:

Surveillance Systems

The campus is equipped with state-of-the-art surveillance systems that monitor activity and ensure quick response to any incidents.

Access Control

Strict access control measures, including identification checks and visitor logs, help manage who enters the campus, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed inside.

Emergency Response Plans

Detailed emergency response plans are in place, covering a wide range of scenarios.

Health and Safety Protocols

Especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, health and safety protocols such as sanitization and other health-related measures have become integral to the campus’s safety strategy.

The Valley of the Sun J’s dedication to safety is a testament to its commitment to the well-being of its members and employees. The safety and security measures employed help ensure a secure and nurturing environment where individuals can work out, play, grow, and engage without concern. These efforts not only protect but also empower the community, reinforcing the center’s role as a cornerstone of support and enrichment in Scottsdale.
