Shemesh offers a thrilling adventure for campers entering Grades K-10. From splashing in the pool to exploring our Maker’s Space or embarking on adventures, Shemesh has something to ignite every child’s imagination. With a low staff-to-camper ratio, your child will receive personalized attention while trying new things, building confidence, and making lifelong friendships.
Grades K – 1
Chaverim (Friends)
Make summer special with Shemesh Day Camp’s Chaverim program!
Enjoy swim lessons, sports, arts & crafts, science, and Jewish culture with a 1:6 staff-to-camper ratio, ensuring personalized care in a fun, nurturing environment.
Grades 2 – 5
Shalom (Peace)
Older campers thrive in Shemesh Day Camp’s Shalom program, designed to build confidence and independence.
With a 1:8 staff ratio, explore interests, discover new talents, and enjoy a summer tailored to your preferences.
Grades 6 – 8
Ruach (Spirit)
For tweens and young teens, Ruach at Shemesh Day Camp offers friendship building, cooking classes, science experiments, and sports tournaments.
Weekly field trips and mitzvah (volunteer) projects add extra excitement and community impact.
Grades 9 – 10
Bogrim (Graduate)
Join Shemesh Day Camp’s Bogrim Leadership Program to develop confidence and leadership skills.
Spend 1-10 weeks engaging in leadership activities, mentoring younger campers as a CIT (Counselor in Training), and participating in mitzvah (volunteer) projects with expert guidance.

Summer Camp Activities!
Swim
Campers enjoy up to four days a week in our state-of-the-art pool with two free swim sessions and one swim lesson for Grades K-2. Weekly group swim lessons cater to all skill levels. Small group and private lessons are also available through our aquatics department.
Sports
Shemesh campers have a blast with various sports, from basketball and soccer to fun activities like tag and gaga. Our Sports Department ensures kids stay active, learn new skills, and enjoy team games.
Art
Weekly art projects let campers explore their creativity with age-appropriate, hands-on activities. Our art specialists guide campers through fun, messy, and educational art experiences.
Maker's Space
In Maker’s Space, campers engage in creative STEM projects, from building robots to crafting marble runs. Specialists inspire kids to innovate with materials like pool noodles and toothbrushes.
Jewish Values and Education
Campers learn about Jewish culture through weekly classes (Tarboot), including Jewish foods, traditions, and values. These lessons are integrated into daily camp activities, promoting respect and community.
Cooking
Weekly cooking classes introduce campers to measuring, mixing, and making treats like fried Oreos, cake pops, and savory dishes like homemade mac and cheese.
Accredited by the American Camp Association
Shemesh Day Camp maintains ACA accreditation through annual compliance statements, an Annual Accreditation Report, and a peer review every 3-5 years.
