Member Update October ’24

Shana Tova to all who observe. A Happy, Healthy and Sweet New Year. Please remember that in observance of Rosh Hashanah we will be closed Wednesday, October 2 at 5:00 p.m. and Thursday and Friday, October 3 and 4.

Due to recent world events, you may notice an uptick in security. This is purely a precaution and not due to a specific concern or threat. For the foreseeable future, we’ll continue to operate with different, enhanced, levels of security — as our top priority is keeping the campus and, most importantly, all those who use it safe.

Now moving forward on a slightly different note … Sooner or later cooler fall weather will hit, but we intend to keep things HOT here at Valley of the Sun J.

So, we’ll start with the Men’s Steam Room, of course! It will be closed for minor construction Thursday, October 3 through Sunday, October 6. It’s scheduled to reopen for your shvitz on Monday, October 7.

Know someone who might be interested in joining The J. Bring them in and we’ll gladly provide them a guest pass to “try us out.” When they join and let us know you referred them, you will receive a FREE month of membership. A true win-win!!

It’s not too early to begin to beat the holiday pounds. Our personal trainers can help you do just that. Whether you’re just getting started, would like to modify your program, or just work out in a different manner, have a trainer for you. Ready to get started? Contact Boone.

Lots of questions about lights for the Pickleball Courts. We’re currently in the permitting process with the City of Scottsdale. Once we receive the permit, we’ll get rolling on the project.

The annual J Gala is set for Saturday, December 7. The honorees are Adam Brooks (Irv Shuman Award) and Beth Jo Zeitzer and Adam Nach (Habonim Award). With amazing honorees, great entertainment, and lots of extras, it will be a great, great night. The event is chaired by Ellen Lindzon and Gary Weiss and will be at The J. Go to here for ticket and sponsorship information.

Once again, let’s have some fun. Pick the winner and the score of the Cardinals + 49ers game and win a FREE month of membership. Email your guess to me by 9 a.m. on Sunday, October 6.

And as always, thank you for being a part of our J family. Please know how much it’s appreciated and as we move on into fall our commitment remains – to meet and, hopefully, exceed your expectations every time you come into The J.
