Join the Valley Legends, a fun and competitive 55+ Pickleball League designed for players who love good competition, great rallies, and even better company. This round-robin league keeps things fresh as you rotate partners and opponents throughout the season, giving you the chance to play with and against a variety of players.

League Layout

• Individual rotating partner, change partners each round
• Cumulative Points scored: Everyone will be scored individually; each player keeps a personal running total of the actual points their team scores each game. (Example: if your team wins a game 11-7, you personally will have 11 points added to your individual score)
• 5 games a day (single round game)
• Each game will be timed 12 minutes
• Score to 15 or highest score wins
• No playoffs
• Scorekeeper will add up total points of the whole season duration to determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

Join our advanced pickleball league where individual sign-ups are placed on a balanced team for a round robin season. You’ll play with everyone on your team each matchup and will play each team once, making it the perfect way to test your skills and compete against the best at the Valley of the Sun J.

League Tryouts

• Tryouts are an opportunity to showcase your skills and get to meet your future opponents/teammates. If you know that you cannot commit to both days a week and are able to commit to one of the days no worries. We will be collecting everyone’s preferred days of play and try to accommodate as much as possible when building out the season schedule.
• Subs: If you can’t commit to the season duration but are interested in being a sub. You can still try out and make our subs list. When someone needs a sub, we would reach out to you to fill in for that person/evening.

Game Play

• 5 Rounds, 1 game to 15 each round
• Doubles matchups
• Different matchups each round.
• Teams are scored based on total winnings. If there is a tie at the end of the season before playoffs, we will go off points season points to determine a tie breaker.
• Timed Scoring: 15 minutes per game, once buzzer goes off you go straight into rally scoring if not finished.
• The first team 15 reaches wins. No winning by 2.

Rally Scoring Rules

• When the timer goes off, rally scoring takes effect immediately (or upon completion of the point if one is underway).
• At the start of rally scoring, each team has one final opportunity to switch player positions (who plays on the left and who plays on the right). Once those positions are set, players remain on their respective sides for the remainder of the match, regardless of who is serving or winning points.

The rules for rally scoring are as follows:

1. The serving team always serves from the right side when its score is even and from the left side when its score is odd.
2. If the serving team loses the rally, the opposing team earns a point and takes over the serve. That team then serves from the right or left side based on its own score (even = right; odd = left).
3. If the serving team wins the rally, it earns a point and retains the serve. The next serve comes from the opposite side, meaning the other player on that team now serves. The players themselves do NOT switch positions.
4. This process continues until one team reaches 15 points.
